Our 10th Annual Ryder Cup event took place June 4th through June 6th at Breezy Point, Minnesota.  Twenty veterans participated in the fun event organized each year by Nick “The Snake” Huble.  I’m sending you a photo of this year’s winning team.  Front (l-r): Captain Dan Jacobwith, Bob Ready, Lee Russeth, Jim Zimmerman.  Back: Mike McCalvy, John Kurimchak, Harry Winters, Jim Jorgenen, Ken Johnson, Mal Mac Alpine.

The other photo shows me on the right -- I was last year’s winning captain -- presenting the Ryder Cup Trophy to Dan Jacobwith, this year’s winning captain, on the left.

State Qualifiers. The Chaska 13AA Metro traveling team had an exciting weekend of baseball at the Gopher State Mid-Summer challenge in Mendota Heights.  The team finished in 3rd place with a 5-1 record over the weekend with hard fought victories over the Brooklyn Bombers, Forest Lake Gold, Osseo-Maple Grove Blue, Brooklyn Park Blaze, and Roseville in the 3rd place game.  Chaska’s only loss came in the semifinal vs. the ultimate champion, Shoreview White.  The score of the semifinal was 6-5 and it was the closest test Shoreview faced throughout the tournament.  Chaska 13 AA earned a berth to the Gopher State Championship tournament at season’s end and has now qualified for all three state tournaments as well as an invitation to the USSA World Series this summer.

Front (l-r): Brooks Wineberg, Grant Munch, Dean Rinnan, Brandon Martinez, David Childers, Dylan Johnson, Alex Riley of Victoria. Back: Johnny Koch, Jack Wickstrom, Alex Cunningham of Victoria, Jacob Ostby, Troy Gagnon.  The teach is coached by (back, l-r) Assistant Brad Bohlman, Assistant Duane Flategraff of Victoria, Assistant Steve Wickstrom, and Head Coach Tim Gagnon.
