The Deer Run Ladies 9-Hole League took part in "Rally for the Cure" presented by Golf for Women magazine, a breast cancer awareness campaign that is the nation's largest grassroots women's golf program.  More than 100 women from Victoria and surrounding areas participated in the event that was held on June 26th at the Deer Run Golf Club in Victoria.  This year marks the fourth time that the Club has pledged its support and teed off against breast cancer.  The 9-hole league raised $2,200 for the cause.  Thought you might want to publish the enclosed picture.  Over 60 women participated in this event at Deer Run.

Sweet Georgia.
I thought this might be of interest for the Victoria Gazette.  Georgia Kandiko of St. Victoria won 2nd place in her age group at the Northwoods Triathlon in Nevis, MN, on August 11th.  It was her fourth race ever in her career.

Congratulations, Connor.
Hi, Sue.  Tom said he saw you at the Post Office and that you said you'd be happy to have some photos of Connor swimming across Lake Bavaria for Sunset Fest.  I am attaching one of him with his medal and another one of him swimming.  The one I have of him with Father Bob didn't turn out so well.  Go ahead and use what you would like.
I think it was great that Connor, being only 10, swam when it was only 59 de-grees and raining.  What a feat!.
