To the Editor: Enclosed find $20 for another year's subscription to your newspaper. I'm still enjoying every page! You sure make it hard for us "old people" to find the fishhook. After going through the paper four times, I found it on page 27 in the hockey player's helmet. My neighbor Arlene Conner expressed a desire to get your paper and I'm including her address for you. Keep up the good work. Doris Strom Excelsior, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Just letting you know I'm doing fine and enjoying the Gazette every month. Lots of good memories there. Say hi to family and friends for me. Take care. Caroline Hartman Walker, Minnesota

To the Editor: Enclosed is a check for the paper. That was a nice article about my dad's beer warehouse last year. I remember being there during the construction of it. I spent most of my early years working or playing there from 1946 to 1959 when I went into the service. Dad's first warehouse (the old Lenny Koehnen garage) is still standing, as you reported. In October 2009 I had the opportunity to get inside and photograph our first house [on the corner just west of the Holiday Station] when the new owner was remodeling it. That was the first time in 63 years since I last saw inside. I was six years old when we moved to a new house a block away. That really brought back the memories. The bedroom where four of us kids slept was only a 6 by 9-foot room. Closets are bigger today. Even the old painted woodwork is still in all the rooms except the kitchen and living room. Amazingly, the old radiators are still there and in working condition. Other than paint and wallpaper, the upstairs' rooms (the attic) was unchanged. The only thing missing was the old iron cook stove. The house was built around 1934 by Erwin Kirsch, Dad's brother. The house originally had a basement garage (long since gone) that entered under the kitchen from the side street. I really enjoy the articles and stories you print about early Victoria and the people who lived there. They bring back a lot of good memories. Keep up the good work. John J. Kirsch Neenah, Wisconsin
