Italian SaladH from Nancy Boerboom, sister Ghent, Minnesota 2 cups broccoli 2 cups cauliflower 1 pint cherry tomatoes (I use yellow ones too, for color.) 2 jars whole mushrooms 1 can medium pitted black olives Top with Italian dressing. Writes Nancy, "You can add more or less of the veggies to your liking. Sometimes I also add chopped cucumbers. This is the recipe that Lori and Paul always want me to bring to family gatherings."
Buttermilk Cookie SaladH from Sharon Claeys, sister in law Marshall, Minnesota 1 cup buttermilk 1 pkg instant vanilla pudding Mix together, then add: 1 (8 oz. or 12 oz.) container Cool Whip 1 can mandarin oranges or fruit cocktail, drained Just before serving, crush 1/2 package of fudge-striped cookies and add to mixture. You may add 1 banana and miniature marshmallows, walnuts, or cherries, if desired. Writes Sharon, "I'm sending you a couple recipes that Paulie and I like. Hope to see you over the holidays."
Buttermilk PancakesH from Nancy Boerboom, sister Ghent, Minnesota 1 egg beaten 1 cup buttermilk 1 Tbsp sugar Beat together (I just use a fork), then add: 1 cup flour 1/2 tsp salt 1/2 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp baking powder 1 glug of majola oil Writes Nancy, "Here is my pancake recipe that every grandchild loves (and I don't always measure everything). This probably makes 9 to 10 pancakes, and I have used the whole quart of buttermilk for a big batch."
Slow Cooker Best DipH from Nancy Boerboom, sister Ghent, Minnesota 8 oz. cream cheese 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese 2 tsp minced garlic 1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese 1 14-oz. can artichoke hearts, finely chopped 10 oz. baby spinach, stems removed Little salt and pepper Put in slow cooker on high for 2 hours or on low for 4 hours. Serve with chips, crackers, or bread. Writes Nancy, "The grandkids always order the spinach/artichoke dip at Applebees and this recipe is as good."
