To the Editor:

Carver County Attorney Jim Keeler announced January 25th that he signed an Employer Statement of Support for the  U.S. National Guard and Reserve, showing support for his employees who are also members of the military.

In signing the document, Keeler agrees to 1) recognize, honor, and enforce the Uniform Services Employment and Re-employment Rights Act, 2) provide leadership with the resources necessary to effectively manage Guard and Reserve employees, and 3) recognize and support service members and their families in peace, crisis, and war.

He stated that increased public understanding of the essential role of the U.S. National Guard and Reserve members is critical to preserving the all-volunteer force and our national security.  The effort was accomplished in conjunction with the Minnesota County Attorneys Association.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Regarding your questions, Mobile Banking is the newest convenience available free to customers of KleinBank.  It essentially provides access to your personal accounts using a cell phone with internet access.

Of course, the staff at KleinBank is always ready to provide you with the same great service you have come to expect.  Mobile Banking is simply an extension of our service excellence providing the latest and greatest banking tools.

Mobile Banking offers the ability to perform several often-used functions to view account summaries, view account history for the past 25 transactions, confirm when checks have cleared, transfer funds between KleinBank accounts, and find the nearest branch or ATM location.

Simply enter M.kleinbank.com in the web browser on your phone or other mobile device and click on Mobile Banking.  Compatible phones can also download and install the software program called Mobile Finance Manager to directly access Mobile Banking.  There is also a KleinBank Mobile Banking App coming soon for iPhones.

I have also attached an image that shows a sample of how the Mobile Banking site would appear on a customer’s phone.  Also attached is a Powerpoint show that will be used at local trade shows that goes into further detail how Mobile Banking is used on our customers’ mobile devices.

Let me know if you have any other questions.  Thank you, Sue.

         Marketing Manager, KleinBank

To the Editor:

We held our community blood drive here in Victoria on Monday, January 25th.  A total of 109 units of blood were donated.  We would like to thank all of the blood donors and volunteers who make this drive possible.  Also, many thanks to the staff at the Victoria Recreation Center.  The sponsor and behind-the-scene workers of the drive is the Victoria Lions Club.  We appreciate all that the Lions do for our community.  Thanks again to everyone who helped out in so many ways.

To the Editor:

Just wanted to tell you of a great photo op story if you would like to cover it.  The author, Amy Krouse Rosenthal, who is featured at District 112’s Hooked on Books this year, is doing a writer’s workshop for 3rd graders at Victoria Elementary on Friday, February 5th.  She is visiting every elementary school in our district and is actually staying at Mary Hadaway’s home in Victoria, as our author and illustrator did last year.  Mary has the best bed and breakfast in town.

I think it would be a fun visit to the school for you.  Would love to have you.
