Haley O’Brien, daughter of Gene and Susan O’Brien of Victoria, was selected as Miss Minnesota Teen USA 2010 at the pageant that took place Sunday, November 29th, at the Burnsville Performing Arts Center. Haley will now advance and compete next year at the Miss Teen USA national pageant. Haley is currently a senior at Minnetonka High School. Her plans following high school are to attend St. Cloud State University where she intends on majoring in Broadcast Journalism. The competition consists of three proportional segments: evening gown, swimwear, and interview. Eligible young women must be between the ages of 15 and 26 and be unmarried residents of Minnesota in order to compete in the pageant. Haley will receive thousands of dollars in prizes and awards. Seasons Greetings and Happy New Year. Our latest pancake and sausage breakfast was Sunday, December 6th, 2009, again at the City Hall in Victoria. The weather was cooperative and the turnout was great! The current chairmen are Lion Rick Hinze and Lion Brian Schmieg (above). That’s Lion Tom Boogard serving sausages (left) and Lion Mike Jeurissen doing dishes. Merry Christmas to you and yours. Kurt Zuppke Victoria Lion, Minnesota
Happy New Year. This is a picture of our son Chuck and his wife Ann’s kids, Kealy, 8, and Charlie, 6, at our house this summer, playing with Kitty from the neighbors. If you have space, could you put it in the paper? They would like that, since you have the best paper around. Thank you for putting Charlie’s picture in the Gazette a couple months back. He still plays the concertina but now in nursing homes. Charlie is giving our grandson Ben Hester lessons on the concertina. Georgiana Johnson Victoria, Minnesota |
