VICTORIA 2011: INDIVIDUAL MARKERS Several individuals in Victoria reached a landmark point in their careers or personal lives, one that brought them recognition because of an extraordinary endeavor, unique position in the community, or in their life's work. Some of those individuals are included here. Not noted in this piece are the dozens of Victoria students who earned positions on Dean's Lists or Honor Rolls and who excelled athletically, musically, or in student, youth, or community organizations. Also not noted at this time are the Victoria residents who celebrated landmark anniversaries and birthdays. It would take another volume of the Victoria Gazette to recapitulate all the markers and milestones recorded in the past twelve months, which complete the 32nd volume of this newspaper. The Victoria Gazette has been serving the community for over three decades and continues to provide Victoria's most comprehensive coverage while also attracting wide readership beyond Victoria. |
