To the Editor:

I realize that the enclosed reading is no longer timely for this year.  However, I do hope you’ll find inspiration and possible use of the Easter Hare.  Thanks again for all your wonderful work.  What energy!  Blessings.

Hi, Sue.  Thank you so much for publishing the information on our dance competition.  The girls were thrilled to see their picture in the paper.

To the Editor:

On the morning of Sunday, April 20th, my 8-year old son took off his green art glass and turquoise necklace in order to keep it from being damaged while he played on the playground equipment at Wintergreen Park.  He put it in a “safe place” under the slide and then forgot to retrieve it when he was called home.  He remembered later that afternoon, but by the time he was able to go back to retrieve it, it was gone.

Several neighborhood children reported that a young boy, who was maybe 9 or 10 years old and wearing a red shirt, was there with his father or grandfather and that he found it and left with it.  If anyone knows who this young man was or where the necklace ended up, we would greatly appreciate hearing from you.  My son is heartbroken over the loss and just wants the necklace that he made with his grandmother back.

The City of Victoria and Independent School District 112 would like to invite you to attend a neighborhood meeting regarding the Victoria Field House Expansion project proposed for Diethelm Park.  If you would like to view the proposed field house expansion site plan and comment on the field house schematic design, a neighborhood meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 7th, at 6:30 p.m. at the Victoria Elementary School cafeteria located at 9300 Red Fox Drive.

To the Editor:

Holy Family has started a new sport; some of you may have heard about it.  It is a game called lacrosse.

This is a relatively new game in the Midwest; it is rather popular on the east coast and is rapidly gaining more and more exposure here.  Last year we introduced the sport and this year is the first year of the varsity program.  The plan for next year is to gain acceptance in the Minnesota State High School League.

The reason for this email is that many people don’t know anything about lacrosse.  So we are, in conjunction with the Lacrosse Senior Night, inviting everyone to check out our new game.  It is a mix of soccer (big open grass field and similar spacing), basketball (pick and rolls, ally oops), hockey (checking and spacing), and football (not quite tackling, but some big time hitting).  On Friday night, May 9th, we are offering complimentary brats and hotdogs, chips, cookies, and water.  We will do that until it runs out.  Game starts at 7:30 p.m.

To the Editor:

I was reading the Victoria Gazette (May issue) and saw your Hook Line and Sinker column.  Found the hook on page 7 in the word “OFF” in the Parker Tannin ad.  Please let me know if I win something.  Thanks.
