To the Editor: Thanks for your paper. I still enjoy it, especially your editorials. Betty Werner Delafield, Wisconsin
To the Editor: My name is Brandon Downs, and I am a Boy Scout of Troop 589 and a candidate for the rank of Eagle Scout. For my Eagle project, I am having a book drive in which I will collect books at Holy Family Catholic High School, the school I attend, on the 10th of May from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. My goals is to collect 1,500 books of all types, which I will donate to Sharing and Caring Hands of Minneapolis and Family Service Center of St. Paul. Lastly, myself and a group of volunteers will go to Mary’s Place of Sharing and Caring Hands to read the collected books to children. After this, we will personally give the children several of the donated books in hopes that they will continue to read and learn and develop skills that will benefit them throughout their lives. We would greatly appreciate multicultural and children’s books, but any donations are entirely welcome and appreciated. Thank you. Brandon Downs Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Congratulations to Tanta Frannie and Uncle Ray Schmieg. When my folks were married in 1947, Frannie was an attendant for her older sister Rosie, my mom. Mom’s sister Frannie and Dad’s sister Ethel were both attendants. Mom wore a gray suit, gray skirt, jacket, white blouse, and black platform shoes. Frannie and Ethel wore green dresses, which was Mom’s favorite color, probably because it’s her birth stone, an emerald. Mom would have been 81 this May 13th. Dad’s attendants were Mom’s oldest brother Richard Poppler and Dad’s oldest brother Richard. Mom was born on Friday the 13th at 2 a.m. in 1927. I finally found the fishhook on page 7 in the Parker Tannin’s ad. Happy Dad’s Day to all dads. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota

To the Editor: Thanks much for including the item on Bill Holm. It’s great to hear about people’s connections to Bill and his work. Let me know if I can do anything to help. Tim Hanrahan McKnight Foundation
To the Editor: Thanks for printing the Our Savior girls nationals photo and article. For your information, Holy Family accidentally messed up the headings in their ad on page 14 in your last issue of the Gazette. The students names on the President’s List and the Honor Roll are flip flopped. Sandy Krause Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am so pleased that you are willing to share our story of how God has blessed our lives through one little Hungarian gal. It is a story of God’s love flowing through not only Bill and me, but through the Waterbrooke congregation. Attached are some photos. If they don’t come through well, give me a shout. I’m not an expert on this technical stuff. I love reading your sweet little emails that you send out every month. Do you dream for very long to think them up? Last Saturday Waterbrooke did do some planting and sprucing up and we are all beautiful now for those spring weddings. Wasn’t today perfect? Maureen Bonner Waterbrooke Fellowship Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: On May 9th Kayla competed in the Level Western Championship held in St. Louis, Missouri. Kayla took 4th on the beam with a 9.35 and she had a 9.375 on floor. Way to go! Great job on a great gymnastics season, Kayla. Linda Lindeman Victoria, Minnesota
