by Sue Orsen Sometimes you don't need a lot of words to describe the spirit of a town. You can see it when you're passing through or stopping by. You can feel it when you step into the businesses that have been around for a while, and you can feel the start of it in some of the businesses that have sprouted in more recent times. Victoria has the opportunity to continue the growth and yet remain a town with a welcoming spirit, a kind and generous spirit, a town that gives more than it takes and recognizes a neighbor in everyone. Victoria is fortunate to have a defined downtown district, one that is not so large that you have to drive to get from one business to another but you can stroll the walks and stop a moment at a sidewalk cafe, one that is not so small that you have to visit other places down the road to find what you're looking for. Victoria is inviting in many ways. As we've just honored a veteran's spirit and sacrifice on Memorial Day, and as we approach Flag Day in June, and then come to celebrate Independence Day in July, we can see the spirit that propels a city, a nation, a people, especially if you take a lot of pictures. God bless America, and God bless Victoria.
