To the Editor:

I’m voting for Kim Roden for Victoria City Council.  Kim’s tenure on the City Council is marked by her intelligent approach to steering the city through the challenges of growth.  She asks good questions, listens to everyone’s perspective, and votes her conscience.  She’s fiscally responsible and has a long term perspective for Victoria

I’ve witnessed Kim’s leadership while I participated in the citizen’s advisory group that helped update the comprehensive plan.  She’s been an active member of the Schutz Lake Association and taken initiative to explore options for control of Eurasian milfoil in the lake.

Kim’s business acumen and collaborative approach to problem solving qualifies her as a great candidate.  I encourage voters to look at her record of public service and reelect her to another term as a member of the Victoria City Council.

         Respectfully,

To the Editor:

For almost two years I have worked with the Victoria City Council.  The people of Victoria are fortunate to have this group of dedicated elected public servants acting on their behalf.  Kim Roden certainly deserves your consideration to continue on the Victoria City Council.

Kim has worked diligently to obtain a successful redevelopment plan for the Victoria Central Business District.  Councilmember Roden strongly supported addressing the financial concerns with the Victoria Field House and encouraged the new partnership with School District 112 to expand the facility providing new and exciting opportunities for Victoria.

Kim ensured that the new Water Treatment Facility and Fire Station was completed, allowing for the strategically planned growth of Victoria.  Kim endlessly advocated, as many residents did, for the long overdue placement of an elementary school in Victoria.  I would like to express my personal “YEA!” to this accomplishment.

During this particular election, Victoria has an excellent field of candidates running for City Council and I believe they all could do a good job.  Please consider Kim Roden’s accomplishments, commitment, and experience when voting for your City Councilmembers.

To the Editor:

As larger than life national elections consume our attention, it is also important for each of us to evaluate and choose the people we feel are best able to represent us in local offices.  Information and perspectives from many sources are critical to make an informed decision.  I would like to communicate the rationale for my  support of Kim Roden’s reelection to the Victoria City Council.

I have firsthand experience working with Kim as a member of the Victoria Park and Recreation Committee and the Victoria Comprehensive Plan Task Force.

Kim’s strong vision for Victoria seeks to balance the residential and commercial interests of our community to ensure Victoria is a livable and vibrant community.  She places priority on smart development that preserves the character of the city.  Further, Kim advocates creation of public spaces to ensure future generations will enjoy our dearest natural assets.  Kim’s vision ensures Victoria will continue to be a special place.

Kim is a strong leader with the will to drive difficult issues to conclusion.  Her no nonsense style cuts through rhetoric to get at the heart of the issue.  Kim demonstrates a true desire to hear multiple views on issues and then is able to form decisions based on stakeholder needs and her own principles.  Kim takes on the tough issues, as demonstrated in discussions of the Field House.

I personally believe a vote for Kim Roden is a vote for a rational balanced future in Victoria.  Thank you for sharing my views with your readers.
