         1) Roots.  Minnesota born and raised.  Lived in New Hope, Rogers, Eden Prairie, Albert Lea, as well as a few other places and thought Victoria was the best to call home.

         2) Education/Work. Graduated from Albert Lea High School and attended University of Minnesota Duluth.  Have always been in some sort of sales, bikes, advertising, store fixtures, and now homes.

         3) Reason for running.  I decided to run because I would like to be more involved in Victoria’s growth and development.  We are at a pivotal time in our city’s history and the decisions we make in the next couple years will have a profound impact on the future of Victoria as to what it looks like.

         4) Improving Victoria.  In the next few years I would like to see Highway 5 become a safer road to travel on.  I would also like to see more development in the downtown area with more goods and services for the residents of Victoria.  I want the development of Victoria to stay aligned with the values and  vision of its residents.

         5) Characteristics of a Councilmember.  A lot of politicians like to hear themselves talk.  I am a very good listener.  (Just ask my wife.)  You can’t find out too much from people when you’re talking.  From volunteering at VES to serving on the Chamber Board and even working the Lions softball tournament, I am hearing from people and what they think.

         6) Expectation of citizens.  What I would expect from Victoria residents is continued involvement with the direction their city is going.

         7) Safeguarding transparency.  I am a firm believer that email does not replace conversation.

         8) Parking.  Ample parking is great if you have someplace to go.

         9) Lofty purpose.  Knowing what the people of Victoria want and communicating clearly and concisely what the government’s role is in those desires.

         10) Council time.  I have a flexible work schedule that keeps me in the Victoria area most days.  My leadership role in the Chamber will be winding down soon and that will free up time for me on the Council.
