To the Editor: Harriet and I are pleased to tell you that we have a new great grandson, our 9th great grandchild, born September 26th, 2009, at 8 pounds 11 ounces and 21 inches long. His name is Quinlan Alistair Cornely. His parents are Tanya (Holtmeier) and Kieran Cornely. Mother and child are quite well. Father seems most exhausted of all. Quinlan’s grandparents are Mary and Rick Holtmeier of Mayer. I regret to report the death of Ronald Bennett. He was the husband of Ruby Plocher Bennett. Ruby grew up in Victoria and her parents were Ralph and Ruth Plocher. There will be a memorial service at the Emblom-Brenny Funeral Home which is just across from the hospital in Little Falls. You are invitted to Harriet Holtmeier’s 80th Birthday Open House on Saturday, November 14th, from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at the Rick and Mary Holtmeier home in Mayer. I have received information that the Baptist home and land at 7600 Victoria Drive (the STEP home, it’s less than a half mile north of the DQ) has been sold to Clinicare. Their address is 8085 Wayzata Blvd., Suite 101, Golden Valley, MN. More information can be found at www.clinicarecorp.com. Ron Holtmeier Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I am an 8th grader at the International School of Minnesota. I live in Victoria just down the street from you by Schutz Lake. I am performing the lead role at Stages Theatre in Hopkins. We are performing the musical “I Like Me” by local author Nancy Carlson. It is a wonderful event for the whole family, and with over 20 performances it should fit into everyone’s schedule. I am helping with promoting the musical as well as Stages Theatre and would love to speak with you about putting something in the Gazette to help promote this wonderful theatre and show. Thank you so much for your time. I look forward to hearing back from you. Sincerely, Lauren Meredith Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I would like to order a subscription of the Victoria Gazette for my sister Lorrie Tschimperle Borchardt at Cokato. Enclosed is a check. We have a subscription and enjoy it. Many thanks. Joyce Noeldner Cologne, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks so much for the photo spread about the Ice Cream Social at Lake Auburn in the September Gazette. It was a real success, both in proceeds for the designated purposes and community turnout, and we appreciate the additional coverage. Judy Kaaua Victoria, Minnesota

To the Editor: I am getting ready to market my Christmas website this year. I am doing a marketing research study nationwide based on five marketing strategies and geological, social, population, and wage scales. For the last two weeks I have been comparing 5,000 newspapers from across the nation. Please send me a rate card and a copy of your newspaper. I also want to promote economical development for printed newspapers. Paula Palmer Lamoni, Iowa
