To the Editor: Big hugs and kisses for the great article you published on our 65th High School Class Reunion. I desire to make sure that all classmates received a copy of your article. Please tell me which of my classmates receive your paper. Thanks a big bunch. Uncle Ron Holtmeier Victoria and Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: In September, KleinBank of Victoria celebrated Customer Appreciation Days. For three days we were fortunate to have people stop by, have a hotdog, and allow us to thank them for their business. There were many within the community who aren't our employees, but still lent tremendous support to our event. I'd like to thank: John T. Riley of Mint Victoria, John Hayes of Enki Brewing, Ann Mahnke and the City of Victoria, Noah Atlas and Fresh Seasons' Market, Shred Right, Bill Bies, Cabin Fever, Victoria House, School of the Wise, Enki Brewing, Parley Lake, Roulette's Pizza, Victoria Rose Floral, Subway, Real Deals Home Decor, Dairy Queen, and All Powersports. Thank you, Victoria. We appreciate everyone's contributions and efforts. We were happy to run our banking specials through the month of September. Joseph Lieser KleinBank Victoria
To the Editor: Izzy Kroening must have had some good bait when she went fishing in the August Gazette and won the ten bucks. She called me in September and told me about the great chat she had with Editor Sue. This time the fishhook was on page 43 in the September Gazette on an Arboretum sculpture. I finally found it about midnight. I can't relax and sleep unless I find it. I took another glance and thar she be, ahoy! I bet those parents are glad to see their rugrats back in school. My mom always was. We were out of her hair for seven hours. Mom would be up at 5 a.m. getting the wash started and fixins for Dad's breakfast before he went to work. Out the front door he goes to catch his ride from a neighbor who also worked at Continental Machines at Savage. The phone rings at 7 a.m. and it's Dad. He'd ask, "Where's your mother?" Mom's in the basement doing the wash. And she knew what he called about. He forgot his glasses and billfold at the kitchen table. She picks up the basement phone and says, "Keep those glasses on your nose!" If there was a winter storm coming, she'd hear Boone and Erickson announce school closing on the radio in the basement and when they said "Chaska, public and parochial," Ma would say, "Ach!" But she drove to Savage to bring over Dad's forgotten stuff. There again she'd say, "Ach!" Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor Another very interesting Gazette. We love reading it. Keep up the interesting pictures and articles. Your grandchildren pictures are good. Found the fishhook on page 4 in the Landscape Arboretum Picture. Thank you. Carol Maas St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
To the Editor Hi. This is Sam Thompson. I am a 7th grader at Chaska Middle School East. I found the fishhook in the newspaper. Please enter me in your contest. Sam Thompson Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor In your August Gazette, you listed names of former Victoria firemen, including one named Math Grausam. I'm wondering if he eventually moved to Chaska and married Mrs. John Schmidt. She was called Lizzie most of the time. After her husband John passed away, she married a Math Grausam. Lizzie had an apartment downtown Chaska. My brother and wife rented an apartment from Lizzie. That's when I heard she married a Math Grausam. Both are now deceased, Liz and Math. Perhaps someone knows if he was the Math G. from Victoria. Guess I'm one of the many people outside Victoria who read your Gazette. Better get this mailed so you get it before your cut-off. The fishhook for September is on page 43 in Summer Dance.
