Horsing Around in Victoria. This photo was shot by Justin Jokela of Victoria on Friday morning, August 28th, on Bavaria Road near the corner of Highway 5. I believe the horses are from just down the street on Bavaria Road. Ryan Hackbarth Victoria, Minnesota
Back at the Coral. We received a call about two horses loose from a residence on 82nd Street West in Chaska at 6:40 a.m. Friday, August 28th. Chaska police were sent to check the area. They did not find the horses but were able to contact the Cleary’s who owned the horses and advise them where the horses were last seen. By 7:20 a.m., Dispatch began receiving calls from motorists on Hwy 5 near Rolling Acres Road in Victoria that the horses were on the roadway. Ten to twelve calls were received. Deputies located the horses on Rolling Acres Road, north of Highway 5, and were able to move the horses back south across Highway 5 to Bavaria Rd. The horses seemed to know they were headed home and turned east on 82nd Street. They then stopped down the way where there were some other horses. That owner and deputies were able to coral the horses in a pen on the property. Chaska police then brought the horse owner to the location and arrangements were made between the property owners to move the horses back home. The deputy I spoke with didn’t know how the horses got loose. Bob VanDenBroeke, Chief Deputy Carver County Sheriff’s Department Carver County, Minnesota |
