Steamboat Minnehaha. This summer the Steamboat Minnehaha paired up with neighboring merchants to offer riders a promotional discount to their establishments. It is the Museum of Lake Minnetonka, a nonprofit organization, that owns and operates the Steamboat Minnehaha, docked only three miles from Victoria. Jim Zimmerman, Board Member The Museum of Lake Minnetonka Exclesior, Minnesota
Happy 50th, Charlie and Georgiana. Our anniversary was May 2nd but we went to Chuck and Ann’s daughter’s First Holy Communions that weekend so we are celebrating our 50th on Saturday, September 12th, at the KC Park in Waconia, located off Old County Road #10, from 1:30 to 5:30 p.m. It is an Open House so I hope everyone that was involved with us from there will come Here is $20 for you, Sue, for always being so wonderful to us. God bless. You be sure to come and please send this picture back to me. Love, Georgiana Johnson Victoria, Minnesota
Feed My Starving Children. We learned about Feed My Starving Children, which has a site located on Dell Road in Chanhassen, when some of our kids worked there with a 4H group about four years ago. About two years ago we here at Lake Auburn joined an effort from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chaska and so became involved ourselves. Lisa Vanderlinde, one of our elders, sets up a date for us to help on a regular basis now, for about two hours maybe four times a year. In the photo (l-r): Tom Knowlton, Nora Adam, Carol Jones. The last time we packed food there was August 1st with twelve members from Lake Auburn. We packed enough meals that Saturday morning to feed nine children one meal a day for an entire year! I encourage others to help Feed My Starving Children -- form a neighborhood group, hook up with a church or civic organization, do it as an alternative birthday party. Our time and donations of money are critical. Their costs for shipping and ingredients are going up. I guarantee you will never look at rice again the same way. A Year to Remember. The Chaska Hawks 10AAA ended a great season with an overall record of 44 wins and 6 losses. Tournaments won included Eden Prairie, Rochester, and Edina. Tournament runners up included Woodbury and Bloomington. They went on to win Minnesota Baseball Tournament 10AAA State Championship and ended with the Metro Baseball League Tier 1 Championship and League Championship for 10AAA. A year that all the players, fans, and family will remember! Champions all around. Front: Reid Young. First row (l-r): TJ Hokanson of Victoria, Jake Reneke, Brock Hansen, Jack Tulley. Standing: Trey Prince, Zack Nelson, Jordan Bonk of Victoria, Brady Knotts of Victoria, Jacob Goraczkowski, Patrick Reddan, Brad Fering. Back: Coach Jon Fering, Head Coach Mark Young, Coach Doug Bonk of Victoria. I also attached an awesome picture of the big screen at the Minnesota Twins game on July 27th when the team got to go out on the field at the Dome. Pam Nelson Chaska, Minnesota
