THREE WINNERS, THREE CHECKS

FRUIT OF VICTORIA BASKETBALL CAMP
John and Maryse Thomas of Victoria attended the August 9^th city council meeting and announced winners of the essay contest they sponsored along with a recent basketball camp at the Victoria Field House.

Said Mr. Thomas, "We're here to present the three checks based on the camp we had.  It was a good thing for everyone, including myself.  Hopefully we can do it better and bigger for next year.  It was a great experience for me personally and I'd love to do it again."

1^st place essay ($100 winner) was written by Christine Piwnica, daughter of Bill and Beth Piwnica of Victoria, and granddaughter of Stan and Jayne Hamerski of Victoria.

2^nd place essay ($50 winner) was written by Sarah McLarnan, daughter of Tom and Jennifer McLarnan of Victoria.  Younger sister Grace also attended Awards Night in Victoria! 

3^rd place essay ($20 winner) was written by Bennett Johnson, son of Luke and Jamie Johnson of Victoria.  Mr. Johnson accepted the award on behalf of his son.  John Thomas, at the podium in the background, presented the award checks.
