To the Editor: I was wondering if I could get a digital copy of your photo of me at the Fishing Contest and also of the Packer fan. Thanks. Justin Jurek Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I assume you'll be writing a piece on the Governor's recent appointment of Gary VanEyll, former mayor of Chaska, as 4th District Commissioner on the Metropolitan Council of the Twin Cities. The new commissioner is a parishioner at Guardian Angels in Chaska, and I can attest to Gary's inordinate servant-leader ethic. He's currently an usher at church and the co-chair of our parish's capital campaign committee, "Rebuild My Church," which strives to both prosper our parish's ministries and preserve our parish's historic campus for the next 100 years. His gentle and persistent invitation to join in an important project is invaluable to the area's most visible landmark, the community's clock tower (and church). Extremely personable, Gary knows everyone in Carver County, it seems. He's not afraid to reach out and get to know and help anyone. Gary once wrote a piece in our parish's bulletin in which he explained that positions of authority in our society -- at least in the Christian sense of authority -- are created to serve, not to be served or to lord it over others. These are clearly more than words for him. He lives the servant-leader ethic. Judging from his lived example at Guardian Angels, I know Gary will be an extraordinary servant-leader for the citizens of Metropolitan Council District 4. To the Editor: Hi, Sue. We're back from Mazatlan safe and sound, but I do have a good story as to why I did not email an article for the March issue of the Gazette to you. The first night we were there, from my first margarita I got alcohol poisoning and almost died. Truly! I was hospitalized and pumped full of IV liquids. So I was recovering and never got to write anything. Found out later to never just order a margarita unless you ask for a specific brand -- no bottom of the barrel stuff! It's so good to be alive. Isn't the sun wonderful? Maureen Bonner Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hello, Sue. We are asking you to deliver our April issue of the Victoria Gazette to our home address in Victoria. We are leaving our winter home in Mesa, Arizona. We understand we missed a lot of snow and "real" winter weather! While we have enjoyed our stay in Arizona, there is no place like home. Thank you. Mary and John Ramseth Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: We want to thank you for your continued partnership in helping us keep our citizens well informed on public safety issues occurring in the county. You play a very important role in helping us do our job of law enforcement and public safety. Sheriff Olson invites you to join us at the Waconia City Hall Maple Conference room on Thursday, April 14th from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. It is very important to Sheriff Olson to maintain an open and honest relationship with you. This will be a great opportunity for us to meet with you and other media members from around the county. There have been some changes in our office which we would like to share with you. We would also welcome the opportunity to catch up with any changes occurring in your office and the industry in general. As we welcome you, there will be introductions and open discussion of what you need or want from us, as well as what we are able to provide to you as we work together to satisfy the public safety information needs of our citizens. Please bring your ideas and questions and be prepared for an informal discussion of relevant topics. Wm. Blair Anderson, Chief Deputy Carver County Sheriff's Office
