Nothing satisfies me more for lunch in the middle of a summer's day -- or any other season's day, as a matter of fact -- than a tuna fish sandwich. Old as the hills and as familiar as family, sourdough bread heaped with tuna salad made with dill pickles and garden green onions, always hits the spot for me. It's very filling, totally fulfilling, and simply tasty, not to mention low in calories and carbohydrates. I often eat the delicious tuna concoction with cardboard crackers rather than the more savory saltines or townhouse variety, in order to cut the calories even lower. Yes, I can eat like a little piggy or a big piggy, but if I keep tuna on the plate, I oink less.

Did you hear about the farmer who had momentary trouble spelling pig? Without thinking he spit out "P-I-G-E-I-E-I-E-I-O."

So how do you spell winner? W-I-N-N-E-R. And her name is Isabel Kroening from Chaska. She found the fishhook hanging on the 'H' in Dr. Dungey and Menser's Happy Fourth of July ad on page 18 of the July issue. When I reached into the minnow bucket, 'twas Isabel I pulled out for this fun little drawing to win ten bucks. There's another fishhook hidden in this issue of the Gazette. Ten dollars doesn't buy too much today, not even three gallons of gas but it'll buy three cans of tuna which is enough to feed a family for a day. But it's better to teach the family how to fish than to keep forking over the tuna.
