The Victoria GAZETTE |
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I am in Arizona reading my favorite paper -- the Victoria Gazette. I found the fishhook on page 33 in the ad for Waterbrooke Fellowship, the horn of plenty with three corn cobs and the hook at the end of the middle cob. John Ramseth Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for printing my sister Joyce's story last month. A few people remembered her. The guy with Pastor Brian and me in the photo at the cemetery is my nephew Gregg Hedtke, Bob Hedtke's son. He drove us down to the cemetery and set up the phone in church so Jessica, Steve Peldo's daughter and Joyce's granddaughter, could hear and speak from Wasilla, Alaska. Her two other grandchildren, Will and Jillian Burton, are Debbie's kids. I also wanted to thank Thom Flug for playing and providing music on such short notice. Always enjoy your paper, especially the historical stories and pictures. Virginia Stowe Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: My name is Regan. I'm a fifth grade student at Victoria Elementary School. I'm writing to you to ask if you would like some extra help. Would you be interested in having a kid reporter? As far as writing newspaper articles goes, I write for "The Star Times." It's a newspaper my two friends, Ashley and Kayla, and I started. We distribute it out to our classmates. I'm very reliable and I always have a good article topic up my sleeve. I'd be happy to come in for an interview. I've enclosed the first issue of "The Star Times." Thanks for considering my application. Regan Anderson Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: This month I was the first to look at the Gazette and I found the fishhook on page 33 in the Waterbrooke Fellowship ad. You are quite a lady, how you write about anything and everything. We are lucky to have you. Carol Maas St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hello, Sue. I am writing to you in complaint about a blaring mistake you published on the front page of the November issue of your Victoria Gazette. You mistakenly published a picture of Ryan Wolf with our three daughters and named our oldest, 15-year old Madison, as the mother of her 10 and 6-year old sisters, Danika and Georgia. This, as I hope you can imagine, could be potentially psychologically damaging to a young woman. Fortunately, Madison's intellect, grace, and wonderful sense of humor have granted her the ability to laugh at the situation. This mistake has been the topic of many a phone call, email, and almost every conversation I had at the Victoria Elementary School luaua. A lot of people noticed! It is my request that you publish an apology and a correction for this very obvious and slightly ridiculous mistake. Thank you. Tracie Wolf Victoria, Minnesota
EDITOR'S NOTE: I apologize to you and your beautiful family. I regret the error and print your letter as the correction. I am glad to be confirmed in the knowledge that the Gazette is a very well read community newspaper. I am, of course, saddened to have caused you grief.
