The Victoria GAZETTE |
January 2013 |
To the Editor: I appreciated seeing the strong life-affirming comments made in your editorial about your grandchildren, in the December issue of the Gazette: "They were somebody before they were born ... God created them as they are ... Each had a personality all their own before they came into our lives ... God doesn't make mistakes." Not many editors out there have the insight to understand these simple but profound concepts when it comes to children, or the character to state them as they are. Here's to your continued good health and effectiveness as the "watchdog editor" of the Victoria community. Keep up the good work. Blessings. Pastor Arnold Lemke Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: Another grandchild, Courtney Grune-wald, daughter of our daughter Cathy of Elk River, Minnesota, earned 3 Golds and 1 Silver in Section 8AA in her last home swim meet of her six-year career. At State, Courtney took 3rd Place in 100 Butterfly, 7th Place in 200 IM, 4th Place in 200 Freestyle, and 9th Place in 200 Medley Relay. Congratulations, Courtney. Grandparents should receive medals also. Have you ever sat four hours at a time at a pool where everyone is hollering and whistling and it is very warm and there's no room to move? Bonnie Fritz Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: I am looking for help in getting the word out on this "Extreme Website Makeover 2012" contest, and I know that you have a lot of contacts. If you wouldn't mind passing it on, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance for your help. Jennifer Kretsch, City Clerk Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Now you have my husband hooked on finding the fishhook. It's on page 34 in the November paper in the Kerber Family Homes Christmas ad. Enter Bob Joos, Waconia, into your minnow bucket. Merry Christmas and God's Blessings to you and your family in the New Year. Bernie Joos Waconia, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. My name is Bennett Lang and I work out at Deer Run Golf Club. I am trying to track down the original high resolution copy of a photo of Tom Abts with Harvey in the Deer Run Pub. Did you by chance snap that photo? If so, could you email it to me? I appreciate any and all help you can provide. Thank you for all of your help. You are the best. Bennett Lang Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Happy holidays. We are off to Florida after Christmas this year. Would you forward the Gazette to our Florida address. It is so comforting to receive news of our community when away from home. We love to read your stories and the happenings. Thank you very much. Blessings to you and your family this Christmas season. Anne Hackert Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Keep up the good work with the Victoria paper. We enjoy reading about your family. Best of everything in 2013. Dan and Aldean Steinhagen Waconia, Minnesota To the Editor: The December issue of the Gazette is outstanding. You have done a great job with bringing to all the meaning of Christmas, as have all those who write for the paper. Found the fishhook on page 34 in the ad for Kerber Family Homes/Madelyn Creek, along the edge of the roof. Barbara Johnson Sacred Heart, Minnesota
