Dedicated to the sunshine of truth, the moonshine of meeting deadlines, and the starshine of Victoria. |
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. My husband beat me to the paper and found the fishhook on page 40 in the parking light of the car. Sure liked all your recipes in the Christmas Gazette. Very interesting. Our subscription was due in November so I'm sending $25. Good job, always!! Happy Holidays to your whole family. Leon and Carol Maas St. Bonifacius, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hier ist es ein grauer Tag, und aufstehen am Morgen, richtig, mag ich nicht! Wissen Sie das spät Herbst Wetter is nicht mein Ding. Geerhte Frau Sue! Aber man hat keine andere Wahl. So, "Guten Nachmittag to eveyone." Well, Sue, again my thanks for the shipped copies of the Victoria Gazette related to the life of your Grandmother Mary and especially of your parents. For me, they are real biographies, and is this not true for every human life? Following me, you do with your text what a photographer does with an image. It is a matter of looking and listening. The daily life brings in enough themes, and when you put them in perspective and describe them with the necessary seriousness and humor, you create an image. The same for you as a photographer. You too are a collector, and the longer you do it, then it becomes history. An image can become a time document. Also, I want to thank you for the family photos. Nice to see your family, especially your Mom and Dad. Therefore I'll end my prose with this: Een Grootmoeder, die haar kleinkinderen omarmt, en altijd opnieuw hun hartjes verwarmt, onbaatzuchtig, zacht en vol kracht. Zo is ze steeds in de weer, vervuld van liefde en zorgzaamheid. My translation: A grandmother who embraces her grandchildren, and always warms their hearts again is selfless, soft, and full of strength. So she is always on the go, filled with love and care. That goes for you and your Mom. Love and winter greetings from Josee, Benny, Mariette, me, and the kids. Theofiel Keymis Dilsen, Belgium
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I am Jesse Coghill's daughter in law. My maiden name is Plocher. I got a phone message from a cousin telling me to check the December issue of the Gazette for some Plocher news. Usually Jesse gives us the paper after they are done, but it got recycled this time by mistake. I checked online at VictoriaGazette.com and did not see the article there. So I emailed the cousin who sent me back a message that he talked to Harry Kowalke in Oregon. He said David Fossum wrote it from California. Is it possible for you to email me the letter or the article or the information he is talking about? Thanks much. Doris Coghill Jordan, Minnesota
To the Editor: Attached is a birth announcement and updated photo. I love reading the paper and especially your connections to southwest Minnesota, as I am from Minneota! Amanda Kack Flannery Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Is it possible to get a copy of the recent December 2014 edition of the Victoria Gazette? We are sending the payment for subscribing, but would really like to have the December edition as well. Donna Leonard Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: Here is the subscription renewals for us and Ethel Ausink, my mother. We love your paper and are enjoying it, especially now with being semi-retired and we have time to read all of it. God bless you for all your work. We appreciate how you included the pictures in your December issue of the people involved in your paper and businesses in the area. It's so good to have a hometown paper. Mom is doing well. Just celebrated her 97th birthday on Thanksgiving this year. She is still very involved in music, plays piano and organ at Beacon Hill where she lives. She also still sings with the Chanhassen Chanoliers! She also loves to read and doesn't miss a thing in your paper. I'm including her address again to be sure you have it. God bless you now and throughout the New Year and have a very Merry Christmas. Corie Boyer Excelsior, Minnesota
