*Don Uram attended a Met Council meeting in Golden Valley and reported, “The situation for the Metropolitan Council is as dire as it is for cities. We will see increases in sewer rates. We will continue to see increases unless there are significant changes in the economy. They are trying to increase efficiency. They are down from 1,200 to 600 employees.”

*Don Uram attended the League of MN Cities Conference and reported, “Virtually every city in the state is running a deficit. We need to be careful how we spend money, especially for special interests like the $40,000 berm on Kochia. An economist from Maryland spoke. Minnesota is not in as bad of shape as every other city in the country. The economy is bad but it’s better here than anywhere else.”
