A Neighborly Rivalry. The Chanhassen 10AA National Team edged out the Chaska 10AA team in a close championship game on Father’s Day in the Prior Lake 10AA Invitational Tournament. The Chaska team had beaten the Chanhassen team the day before by one run in pool play in the same tournament. These two teams have up a total of four times this season which produced some fun, friendly, and competitive ball games with both teams showing great sportsmanship. CHAN TEAM ON LEFT. The 10th Annual Youth Conservation Day was held at the Marsh Lake Hunting Preserve, Victoria, and sponsored by the SW Metro Turkey Federation, the MN River Valley Deer Hunting Association, Scott County Pheasants Forever, and Cabin Fever Sporting Goods of Victoria. The kids participated in trip shooting, archery, rifle range, and muzzleloader training. My son and his friends participated in these events and they had a blast. Special thanks to Steve Kloos and others who helped to make this happening memorable. Pictured above with instructors are (l-r) Mitchell Menth (son of Melanie and Chad Menth of Mayer as well as great grandson of Ray and Frannie Schmieg of Victoria), Bryce Thompson of Winsted, and Josh Campbell of Mayer.
