Dedicated to the sunshine of truth,

the moonshine of meeting deadlines,

and the starshine of Victoria.

To the Editor:

The League of Minnesota Cities recognized 26 member cities and one tribal community at an awards ceremony held on June 26th.  GreenStep Cities is a free and voluntary program designed to help Minnesota cities achieve their environmental sustainability goals through implementation of 28 best practices.  There are now a total of 83 cities in Minnesota that have completed one or more participation steps since the program began in 2010.

Cities achieve Step One recognition by passing a resolution to become a GreenStep City.  They achieve Step Two by implementing up to eight best practices.  Step Three cities implement up to 16.  Only five cities completed Step Three in 2014-2015:  Apple Valley, Bemidji, Northfield, Oakdale, and Victoria.

To the Editor:

Hello, Sue.  We had a great time playing Victoria.  You might be interested in knowing more of Dave's musical history.  Dave was the original bass in Gregory Dee & the Avanties in the 1960's.  They had a bunch of hits in the '60's.  He went on to play 15 years in the Castaways.  We are trying to bring back the sound the 1960's bands had, only hopefully even better.  My girlfriend Terry Santo and I would like a copy of any articles and photos you print in the Gazette.  If we are lucky enough to be hired back to Victoria for next year, that would be great.  You can visit us at zingrays.com.  Thank you again for everything.  Victoria treated us great.
