To the Editor: Lee Anne and I are thrilled to be in Victoria to spend the summer with the kids. While most Minnesota, Wisconsin, and North Dakota residents are "snowbirds" that go south for the winter, we're blessed to be "robins" that come north for the summer. Always look forward to the Gazette arriving. Thanks for the hard work, Sue. The fishhook is located on page 5 on Tortuga's shell. (Tortuga just happens to be my favorite word.) Have a great weekend. Paul and Lee Anne Wild, Edinburg, Texas
To the Editor: Good job on your June editorial. Can you believe a candle vigil for an ape, yet nothing for all the aborted children? Go, Trump, go! Chris Norgaard, Tioga, North Dakota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I am just reading through the June Gazette this morning. It is a great community builder! On page 35, I noticed a good photo of Prince's studio. I am wondering if you would be willing to share that photo. I do not have any specific plans for it. I just know that I would like to have a few photos in the archive for future reference. I have learned that Pastor Joel will reference events like this, and so I try to keep a collection of images on hand. Amy Hazen, Communications, Westwood Community Church Chanhassen, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Your grandchildren are good at drawing. I have never been good in art. It was my worst subject and so I admire what they do. Found the fishhook on Addie's turtle drawing on page 5. Barb Johnson, Sacred Heart, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hey, Sue. We'll be back in Minnesota for July and August so please change our mailing address for the Gazette for the July and August issues. Hope we can touch base with you and Al. Thanks. Fred PlocherK, Marana, Arizona
To the Editor: Hello, Sue. I have an apartment complex and was wondering if you are available to drop off newspapers for my renters. Thank you. Jenna Hamre, Chaska, Minnesota EDITOR'S NOTE: You're kidding, right?
To the Editor: The Victoria Lions Club's generous contribution of $2,000 to Chaska Middle School East will help fund additional multicultural, historical, and biographical books. These books will help strengthen student understanding of global citizenship, cultural perspectives, and significant leaders and events. Many thanks to the Victoria Lions Club from Chaska Middle School East readers for its valuable support of student reading in the 21st century. Linda Dierks, District 112 Media Specialist, Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I live on Smithtown Road and would like to let you know about something that is happening at the public access on Lake Virginia. Ever since it was created, it has been extremely poorly maintained. Last year, the Steingas family moved into the home at the end of Smithtown Terrace. Since their home is on the channel and connects to one side of the access, they started taking care of it. They connected with several neighbors who also had a desire to improve the area. Together they have totally changed the planting areas on both sides of Smithtown Road. They water and weed frequently to keep things looking beautiful. Every time I walk by and delight in how great it looks, I am moved by what wonderful things can happen in our community when people work together. I wanted to bring this to your attention in case you did not know. The planting area near the channel looks great and it appears they are getting started on the Lake Virginia side. Since I walk past it every day, I vividly remember how it used to be just weeds, and lots of them. Mary Kay Klein Victoria, Minnesota
