by Sue Orsen The Victoria Gazette Every year at this time, Victoria fills the streets on Wednesday evenings like ants coming out of the woodwork. The sweet attraction in our wonderful walkable downtown district is a casual yet classy combination of classic cars, concerts at the bandstand, five restaurants with outdoor dining, a brewery, an outdoor plaza, an ice cream shop, retail stores, a lovely lake, bike trail, and sweet summertime as well. According to the Victoria Gazette, this city became a destination in 2013. If you've spent more than one or two decades in this area, you know it didn't happen overnight or by accident. It took the vision of hardworking citizens and volunteers, the courage of risk-takers, the service of exceptional city mayors and councilmembers, and the effort of dedicated city staff..
