*Council approved the purchase of a new Dell computer for the new Public Works Superintendent at a cost of $1,206.

*Council approved the publishing of a notice that the city will be accepting the filing of affidavits of candidacy for three elected city council positions in the general election this fall.

*Council authorized the application by the Victoria Fire Department to the Minnesota DNR fpr a MN Rural Fire Department 50% matching grant that would be used to purchase new firefighting boots. The MN DNR will match up to $2,500 of the cost of the purchase.

*Council approved a temporary noise permit for the Victoria Business Owners Association for the 2010 Volksfest on August 28th from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Bands will be playing inside a large tent.

*Council accepted donations of $150 from Xcel Energy and an ad from Michelle Aspelin for Concerts in the Park, plus $400 from the Dahlgreen Gold Club for Concerts in the Park, T-Ball, Coach Pitch, and Hook a Kid on Golf, and also an anonymous donation in the amount of $500 to be used as a grant to the Victoria Business Owners Association for the Volksfest Artist Logo Initiative.

*Council approved the conveyance of the Bohlman parcel, authorizing the mayor and clerk to execute the deed transferring it to the Three Rivers Park District to complete the land swap transaction with Three Rivers in which the city received the 13.5 acre parcel adjacent to downtown Victoria. As Attorney Mike Norton said, “This is one of the final pieces.”
