Happy 70th. Clarence and Dorothy Kelzer are celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on Saturday, June 6th, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. in Elstan Hall at the St. Victoria Catholic Church.

Flag Day. Sunday, June 14th. It's always on June 14th. It is a day to celebrate and show respect for our flag, its designers and makers. The resolution adopted by the Continental Congress on June 14th, 1777, read: "The flag of the United States shall be of thirteen stripes of alternate red and white, with a union of thirteen stars of white in a blue field, representing the new constellation."
Father's Day. Sunday, June 21st. The third Sunday in June honors fathers and celebrates fatherhood. Founded in Spokane, Washington, in 1910. Inaugurated to complement Mother's Day.
Summer Begins. Sunday, June 21st. At the time of the summer solstice, the sun is directly overhead at noon at the Tropic of Cancer. It is the longest day and shortest night of the year in the northern hemisphere. |
