Best Valentine. This is the Valentine we received from our daughter Kelly, with our grandson Owen. Owen is 16 months old. His parents are Corey and Kelly Macik and they live in Spring Lake Park, Minnesota. Owen was part of a photo shoot at Concordia College, where Kelly works. Loane and Joyce Burau Victoria, Minnesota
Enjoying the ride. Greetings, family and friends. Please excuse my zeal, but my intention today is to show you that our grandson Clay Borrrell, living his dream, is the real deal. I'm attaching a couple pictures where he performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in Chicago on Sunday, February 9th. In two weeks he performs at the University of Wisconsin, Stout. Just enjoying the ride. Grandpa Stan Hamerski Victoria, Minnesota
Gnomes in Victoria. Despite the subzero temperatures on Sunday morning, March 2nd, the ice covered roads and deep snows , these Garden Gnomes were able to dig their way out in order to attend the Victoria Lions Pancake and Sausage and Breakfast that morning at the Hall in downtown Victoria. They said it was well worth their efforts. Lion Kurt Zuppke Victoria Lions Club
Snow Mounds. Everywhere in Victoria, snow is mounded high because the city snowplows and snow blowers have been working practically nonstop to deal with our big snow. Thank you, Ann Mahnke and Public Works crew, for your hours of work for the residents and businesses of Victoria, often during the nighttime hours when most of the rest of us are sound asleep. ~S.O.
The Walsh family. Monday, February 24th, wrote one more chapter in the Walsh Firefighter Family's ongoing story that dates back to at least 1974 when the patriarch Tom Walsh joined the Victoria Fire Department. Tom retired in June 2012 after 38 years and 4 months of service. Son Tim resigned from the Victoria Fire Department in 2013 -- after 26 years and 8 months of service -- when he and his family moved to Carver where Tim joined the Carver Fire Department as a rookie. Son Troy Walsh joined the Victoria Fire Department in 1998 at the age of 18 when he was a senior at the Chaska High School. In the photo (l-r): Sherri and Tim Walsh and their daughters Katelynn and Kristeen. In the middle, Tom and Tiny. Then Matt and Tisha Kaufhold and their children Blake and Hannah. On the far right, Troy. ~S.O.
