To the Editor: Do keep us on your mailing list. The Gazette is a perfect way to keep in touch with what goes on in my hometown of many years ago. You do an excellent job as editor. Thanks and keep up the good work. Found the fishhook on page 24 mixed in with the Easter eggs. Hi, to my family. RoseAnn (Schmieg) Rotzien Alexandria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Dad and I enjoyed your article about the Public Library in Victoria in your recent issue of the Gazette. Reading about your library, it made me think of an event coming up in Minneota on May 2nd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Minneota Public Library is having its Grand Opening that day in the newly restored Big Store. I have been a member of the Friends of the Library group and, after years of fundraising, grant writing, and working with the State Historical Society, we are proud of our beautiful re-purposed building. For once, we have plenty of room for our books, an archive room with bound copies of the Minneota Mascot, and a wonderful children's area in the location of Siga Frost's cashier booth. A conference room contains several of Jim Meger's original wildlife paintings. Every piece of the tin ceiling was removed and restored, and the floor was refinished. "Like" our Friends of the Minneota Library page on Facebook and you will see some pictures of the restored building but, better yet, stop to visit and reminisce the next time you are in Minneota. Known family members of O.G. Anderson have been invited to the Open House, and we are excited to be able to show them a piece of their restored history. We enjoy your paper and the fishhook hunt that takes place each month! Sandy Josephson (and Allan, too) Minneota, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Really enjoyed reading the story of your dad's 90th birthday celebration in last month's Gazette and checking out the additional photos of the gathering online in Sue's Album. A real tribute to your dad and family. Being a native, like you and Allan, and currently a part time southwest Minnesotan, I can't resist commenting on the retired tractor in your dad's collection of vintage equipment. It brings back memories of my younger years growing up on the farm. It's hard to grasp that in the timeframe of two generations how times have changed. Driving that tractor back to the farm for your dad at such a young age wasn't that unusual in those days. And you didn't have a cab, radio, seat belt, eye or ear protection, smart phone, etc. I recall the old John Deere didn't travel real fast, but visualize your dad instructing you to drive at a reduced speed. Look forward to seeing you and Al soon. Hi, from Pauline. Pat Ahern Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for the awesome spread in the April paper on our U14A hockey team. Is there somewhere I can get extra copies of April's Gazette for our hockey team? Chad McGraw Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: The Chaska High School Class of 1965 is going to have a 50th class reunion August 29th, 2015, at the Chanhassen American Legion. To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I have a friend in the March or April issue of the Gazette and she doesn't get the paper. Unfortunately I do not have my copy any longer. Is it possible for me to get four copies of that edition? Her husband and daughter are in a sports picture. The coach is Chris Berg. He coaches his daughter's hockey team. Linda Clark Victoria, Minnesota
