To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Unfortunately, I don't believe I can be of help.  We are unable to find any city elections information to determine what year the mayors were elected.  It doesn't appear from our files that the county was involved in city elections during the time you're searching.

While we have abstracts of votes for a number of more recent elections, they reflect only county level office and higher.  Cities are required to canvass their city offices and retain such records.

Further, it isn't possible from our records to determine which years the city mayoral race was on the ballot.  Some city mayors are for two-year terms, and some are for four-year terms -- and some have switched from two-year to four-year terms throughout the years!

If you have further questions or if we think of other resources, I'll let you know.  Good luck, Sue.

To the Editor:

Good evening.  On Wednesday, April 29th, the Minnesota State Patrol, the Carver County Sheriff's Office, the Victoria Fire Department, and Ridgeview Ambulance will conduct a mock vehicle crash at Holy Family Catholic High School in Victoria.

The event will start at 9 a.m. in the southeast parking lot.  The purpose of this event is to demonstrate the potential consequences of distracted or impaired driving to the student body.  The crash will have students playing the role of the victims.

If you would like to attend the event, please feel free to do so.  The crash scenario will be completed by 10 a.m.  Let me know if you have any further questions.

To the Editor:

In your recent editorial you talked about your techno library here at home, but you forgot about your laptop and iPad and your state of the art software in desktop publishing and website production.  And you could also have mentioned my laptop and iPad since I'm your part time tech support guy.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  Attached is the list of sponsors we had listed in our ad that we ran last month as a thank you for supporters of our annual fishing contest.  We missed three very important names and would like to run another ad that will include Framing Images, Snap Fitness, and the Victoria Gazette.

Also, I have attached a newer updated logo.  Thank you so much for all of your support.

To the Editor:

The Minnesota Pollution Control Agency is seeking volunteers for its Citizen Stream and Citizen  Lake Monitoring Programs.  These programs give Minnesotans the opportunity to participate in the long term protection of lakes and streams by collecting valuable information the state will use to make decisions to maintain and improve the health of our waters.

More than 1,300 Minnesotans help protect our water quality through the Citizen Monitoring Program, but in order to reach all water bodies across Minnesota, more volunteers are needed.  We are looking for people curious about local water bodies and passionate about protecting our state's water resources.

As part of the program, volunteers are asked to perform a short and simple water clarity test at their favorite lake or stream once per week through the summer.  Equipment and training are provided by the MPCA and no prior experience is necessary.

To become a volunteer or learn more about the program, visit the program's website at www.pca.state.mn/cmp or call 651-296-6300 (Twin Cities) or 800-657-3864 (Greater Minnesota).
