To the Editor:

Greetings, Sue.  Would you have an interest in writing an article about one of Victoria's official committees?

Victoria for a Lifetime Committee is tasked with mobilizing residents and city officials to advocate for the needs and contributions of Victoria citizens as they age.  Our city is losing good citizens who are aging and cannot find suitable housing, resulting in them relocating to other cities/towns.  We see a need to retain our older population by providing housing that fits their needs.  I am serving on that commission with Linda McNulty, chair.

Searching for April's fishhook was like an Easter Egg Hunt.  Endurance prevailed and I can tell you eggs-actly where it is -- on page 24 of the April Gazette.

I am a volunteer helping Laura Hotvet, Director of the Chamber of Commerce, with the Lake Minnetonka/Excelsior Art on the Lake.  It's the 35th annual Art Fair.  Can you believe it!  Our event is June 13th-14th.  What are your advertising specs?

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  I'm writing on behalf of Southwest Metro Magazine where we are writing an article about the City of Victoria Centennial celebrations.   I just got off the phone with Mayor Tom O'Connor, and he said you would be a great person to get in touch with in regards to historical photos to run alongside the article, and maybe have even a few fun historical stories.

I'm hoping to connect with you sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday to talk about the Centennial in an interview for the Southwest Metro Magazine.  Please feel free to give me a call.  If you want to set up a time beforehand, I am very flexible on timing.  I've spoken to Randy Miller and he also recommended I get in touch with you to hear a bit about the town's history.  Would you be willing to speak with me?

To the Editor:

I have attached an article and picture of my daughter Erin Wolke, who was part of a five-member team to win the Deloitte National Accounting Case Competition.  Erin represented the University of Wisconsin-Madison

Erin is a Victoria resident and a graduate of Chanhassen High School.  I'm sure she would love to give a shout-out to Mr. Piatz, her Accounting Teacher at Chanhassen High School as well.  Thank you for your consideration.  In the photo, Erin is the first person on the left.  She looks more business like than she did in her homecoming queen photos.

To the Editor:

Hi, Sue.  I'm curious if you might have some time to chat with me at some point in the near future.  Backyard Bistros is a Victoria based, high-end grill land smoker dealer.  Two of our grills will be at the new Victoria's Market.  We are also the exclusive grill company chosen by Hazeltine National Golf Club and will have one of our grills on their property.

Backyard Bistros will also be well represented this summer at the Victoria car shows as we expect to have our grills providing visitors with wonderful food at Vic's Bar and Grill, Victoria House, Enki Brewing, and Victoria's Market.

My family reads the Victoria Gazette regularly and love your timely and informative articles.  The stories you feature are most always locally based and relevant to many.  If you get a chance, I would enjoy an opportunity to chat with you. Thank you for your time.

To the Editor:

The enclosed article impressed me and I thought you would enjoy reading it.  Here's part of it:

"I'm dying, therefore I'm living.  I have terminal cancer.  I intend to me to make my remaining days fulfilling.  It is up to choose how to live out the months that remain to me.  I feel intensely alive, and I want and hope in the time that remains to deepen my friendships, to say farewell to those I love, to write more, to travel if I have the strength, to achieve new levels of understanding and insight.  I cannot pretend that I am without fear.  But my predominant feeling is one of gratitude.  I have loved and been loved."  Thank you, Sue.
