To the Editor: I am writing in support of Gordy Simanton for councilmember for the City of Victoria. I was a councilmember when Gordy was on the Planning Commission and he was easy to work with and always informed on the issues. When he was chairman, he made certain the Commission conducted a thorough review of the projects so the Council could make land planning decisions efficiently. When Gordy was appointed to the City Council, after a seat was vacated, we worked closely together and I appreciated that he was always informed on the issues, offered constructive comments, and made thoughtful decisions. I think Gordy is highly qualified to be a Victoria City Councilmember based on his 12 years on the Planning Commission and one year on the City Council, and I encourage you to vote for Gordy on November 6th.
