6) Tell about your interest in city government. I have been interested in government and politics since I was in high school. I remember I couldn't wait to turn 18 so I could vote and I haven't missed an election since. Early in my career, I worked at the MN House of Representatives for three years, so you could say I have a passion for involvement in the government process. The good work of the current administration can be continued and Victoria can thrive. I am not running to play politics or show off a resume of accomplishments. I am just an average citizen who wants to be a common sense voice for my neighbors. I bring to the table a passion for my community and a commitment to make decisions that are in the best interest of the residents and business owners of Victoria. 7) What are your goals for city government in Victoria? I feel that business development in Victoria is key to the future vitality of the city. Even before I lived in Victoria, I would drive through the city and wonder about how it could and would expand. Now I have the opportunity to help find that direction. 7) What are your goals for city government in Victoria? I feel that business development in Victoria is key to the future vitality of the city. Even before I lived in Victoria, I would drive through the city and wonder about how it could and would expand. Now I have the opportunity to help find that direction. The city owns 13 acres of land in the downtown area that can be developed into a new business tax base. Currently, Victoria businesses are well represented by the Victoria Business Owners Association (private sector) and the Business Development Committee (public sector), and I feel there may be an opportunity to create a stronger connection between these two organizations to make this new development happen. Also, Victoria is known as the City of Lakes and Parks and I don't believe we can lose our focus on these amenities that help make our city different from so many others. We have to continue to provide parks, trails, and playgrounds for our residents. The commitment of the city to the parks and trail system is one of the reasons we wanted to live in Victoria and I don't want to lose that. 8) What are your goals today for life in general? I would just like to live long enough to see my kids grow up successful and happy. 9) How did you come to live in Victoria? I grew up in Carver County and graduated from Chaska High School. Since then I have lived in Chaska, Chanhassen, Waconia, and Victoria. Many family members, friends, and business associates also live in Victoria. It was this familiarity that brought us to Victoria when we were searching for our current home. 10) Where would you like to live in the future? My wife and I got married on Waimanalo Beach near Honolulu, Hawaii. I can see us settling into that lifestyle in the distant future. 11) Anything else you’d like to say? I am a business owner and current member of both the private and public sectors is vital to understanding the different perspectives of any issue. Decisions have to be based on what is best for Victoria. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
