ELECTION JUDGES ON BOARD IN VICTORIA

         *Council appointed the following election judges for the upcoming General Election:  Linda Aaberg, Wendy Amundsen (Head Judge), Liz Anderson (Head Judge), David Barstad (Head Judge), Cathleen Beaver, Patti Bjorklund, Theresa Bourdage, Patsy Calhoon, Barry Calhoon, Jon Carlson, Joseph Carroll, Theodore Chalgren, Cecilee Christopher, Ronald Cordie, Jill Dahl, Lisa Debroy, Tapan Debroy, Nola Dickhausen (Election Administration), Katherine Fischenich, Mary Hadaway, Michelle Hammers, Stan Hamerski, Richard Harker, Rosean Harker, Joyce Heiland, Patrick Henning, Jim Hoffman, Joan Jendro, Judith Jorgenson, Joan Julian, Michael Johnson, Henry Todd Knutson, Linda Krantz, Jennifer Kretsch (City Clerk/Election Administrator), Lisa Ann Krumm Schmidt, Michelle Kunze, Mary Leizinger, Doris Mielke, RaNaye Miller, Mary Moore, Cindy Polkow, Henry Pryor, Mary Ramseth, Nancy Robinson, Charles Schmidt, Doc Schmieg, Jane Sklenicka-Focht, Ruth Smith, RaeAnn Vandeputte,  Judith Witt.

         *Council held a 1st and 2nd reading in September and adopted an ordinance that amends the language and clarifies the city's existing PUD ordinance.  It changes the phrase "at least all" to "at least one."

         *Council accepted donations from Amanda and Timothy Fahey ($75) and the Jorgenson's ($100) for the Fire Dept, David and Mary Thun ($100) for Concerts in the Park in memory of Ann Mahnke's mother, and John and Cherylyn Schneider ($250) for the Fire Department.

         *In response to a question from the council, Finance Manager Kelly Grinnell stated that impact of paying Victoria firefighters $9/hour rather than the current $8.50 would be $3,700.  If their pay was raised to $9.50, the impact would be $7,400.  At $10/hour, the impact is $11,000.

         *Under Visitor's Presentation on September 22nd, Laura  O'Neill of Cornerstone Insurance spoke at the podium.  Laura said she just moved into the new Lakeside Building on Stieger Lake Lane.  She thanked Ed Shukle and the mayor for helping with some phone issues.   "We love Victoria and its good business support," she said.

         *Also under Visitor's Presentation on September 22nd, Brent Romenesko of Tempo Investment Advisors said his was a small but longstanding business, also newly located to the Lakeside Building.

         *Council approved Security Systems for both the new City Hall ($10,716) and the Public Works facility ($3,710), Low Voltage system for both facilities ($17,352), and digital signage for the lobby area of the new City Hall ($6,275).
