Congratulations, Lloyd. Lloyd Pauly of Chanhassen received the Donald C. Stone Award for Excellence in Education at the 2008 Conference of the American Public Works Association held in New Orleans in August. This award was established in honor of Donald C. Stone, founder of APWA. The award recognizes outstanding and meritorious achievement of individuals assisting in the areas of continuing and graduate professional education for public works professionals, as well as state chapters in their work in delivering educational opportunities for all levels of persons engaged in the delivery of public works services. Thank you, Lloyd, and SEH Consulting, for inviting us to the wonderful and delicious gathering at Drago’s Seafood Restaurant in New Orleans. It was good to be with you and Rosalie once again, and also so many other APWA friends. Love, Sue Orsen Victoria, Minnesota
Thank you, Dave and Debbie, for contributing to a wonderful time in New Orleans. The City of Wayzata has many exceptional employees and I put both Allan and Dave at the top of the list. Long term dedication and loyalty to a job, a position, a city, a people, is a virtue still in vogue on the way to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. ~ Love, the Editor
Senior Tennis Friends. My name is Mary Ramseth and I live in Victoria. I wondered if you would be interested in a photo of the Senior Tennis Group that plays tennis every Tuesday and Thursday at the Holy Family Catholic High School/City of Victoria courts. We began our Senior tennis program just last year, 2007, and have quite a nice group that gathers together twice a week to play tennis. We have made so many new friends and we are just happy that it developed into a sizeable group. The people come from Waconia, Chaska, Chanhassen, and St. Boni as well as Victoria. Front (l-r): Barb Hicks, Mary Ramseth of Victoria, Sandy Shelby, Sue Shull, Al Johnson. Middle: Jeanette Laven, Audrey Sautter, Joanne Nelson, Coordinator Steve Nelson. Back: John Ramseth of Victoria, Wally Johnson, Lois Bergerson, Roger Stevens, Terry Patick, Mary Ann Geyer, Coy Shelby, Chuck Sautter, Jim Benda. Thank you. Mary Ramseth Victoria, Minnesota

Flower Power. There was a lot of it in August at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, which lies on the back stoop of Victoria. Some of the groups involved at the Arboretum include the Federated Garden Clubs of Minnesota, the Minneapolis Men’s Garden Club, Minnesota Herb Society, the Daffodil Society of Minnesota, and the Iris Society of Minnesota.
