Labor Day. Monday, September 3rd. Always celebrated the first Monday in September, Labor Day is a U.S. federal holiday that celebrates the economic and social contributions of workers.
First Day of Fall. Also called the Autumnal Equinox. Saturday, September 22nd. In the United States and the rest of the northern hemisphere, the first day of the autumn season is the day of the year when the sun crosses the celestial equator. On the Fall Equinox, night and day are of equal length.
