To the Editor: Good morning, my dear Sue. I found the fishhook right before I went to bed last night. It's on the DMA Dentistry ad on page 29 in the August paper, by the fingertips of the little boy on the left. But more important, I'm writing about the marvelous "From the Editor" column. Thank you for all that you said. I have a hunch that all of your 4,700 subscriber households feel the same. This whole exposure of Planned Parenthood activities is helping the Prolife movement make great strides. Keep praying. Our whole family is fine. Our precious grandsons Isaac and Joe turned one year old on August 8th. The time is flying. Kathy Oertel Stillwater, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hey, Sue. I read the Gazette each month but never hunt for the fishhook. Today, however, after seeing the Hook Line & Sinker notice about its location in July, I was enticed to look. Found it!! It's in the DMA Dentistry ad on a beach ball (I think that's what it is) to the left of the little person on the left. As a first-timer, I just had to email my find. See you when the choir gears up, if not before. Judy Janish Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Sue, my wife and I are here from south Texas visiting our son, daughter in law, and granddaughters. We love your community and the beautiful weather. Enjoyed reading the Gazette this afternoon and couldn't resist joining the treasure hunt for the fishhook. It's located in the lower left area of the DMA Dentistry ad. Thanks for the fun and the great paper. Paul Wild Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: The kids on page 29 in the August paper will have a "ball" before heading back to school, and they can go fishing in Lake Orsen with the fishhook on the ball. Bring the corn kernels. Grandma Meuwissen used them as did Father Conran Schneider. He caught a huge muskie back in 1998 or 1999 on Lake Minnetonka fishing with his brother Victor. Father came in the building dragging a gunny sack and a thick chain and a grin on him but he was low-key as to what he had, but I suspected he got a fish. He got some newspaper and pulled out his big catch. I got a photo of him trying to lift it. That fish was almost as tall as he was. He did have it cleaned and it made 30 meals and he gave it to anyone who wanted some and he said it took two people to get it out and the net barely fit the fish. I could tell his shoulder and upper arm were in pain trying to hold up the fish but he wouldn't say if anything hurt. Ahoy, maties! Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hello, Sue. As longtime residents of Victoria living on Marsh Lake Road, I would like to welcome all our new neighbors living in the new housing developments near the intersection of Marsh Lake Road and County Road 43. I hope you all enjoy Victoria and the surrounding community as much as we do. I do have one favor to ask. Please slow down on Marsh Lake Road. I understand gravel roads really don't have a speed limit, but I hope you understand Marsh Lake Road wasn't designed to accommodate the increased traffic it now sees. Most of us who live on Marsh Lake Road have small children, pets, mailboxes, and are walking on the road every day, and every day it gets more dangerous. I know we are all in a hurry these days, but would you please consider doing the favor for us old new/old neighbors and please slow down? I'm sure if I drove through your development with little consideration for children, adults, and pets, your first call would be to the sheriff. Thank you. Scott Stensland Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: During road construction things don't always go as planned. The construction on Hwy 5 between Waconia and Victoria is no exception. The completion window for the work is now late September/early October instead of early September. We know school is starting. We do not anticipate any detours for the buses, but they will likely be traveling on gravel, though, as crews continue to reconstruct the road. Kirsten Klein, MnDOT St. Paul, Minnesota
