I grew up with a barn and silo very much like what's pictured here. Some years ago, Dad and my little brother took it down and used the old lumber to build a large machine shed to house some of their large modern farm equipment. The silo remains standing. It's been used as their burning barrel for all these many years. Some of you remember what the normal size of a burning barrel might be. I know that Mike Wartman has written about the burning barrel in his growing up yard. In any case, I wrapped last month's fishhook around the top of that silo, which is next the Red Barn next to the Bee Center at the University of MN Landscape Arboretum. There's another fishhook hiding in this issue of the Gazette.
