K.J. McDonald, who once walked daily on the steps of the Minnesota State Capitol, not to mention the steps of Rep. Paul Kohls of Victoria, enjoyed a ten-day stay with family and friends in the Emerald Isle recently followed the footsteps of St. Patrick himself and how he brought the teachings of Christ to 4th Century A.D. pagan Ireland. K.J. and son Joe McDonald, who have a combined 75 years of experience in professional photography, captured the isle’s idyllic countryside, rugged coastline, ancient monuments and castles, and rural traditions in “An Irish Holiday,” a newly released professional film by K.J. McDonald. The video production was presented at the Watertown-Mayer Performing Arts Center at the Waconia High School on March 20th. K.J.’s narration and photography explain to viewers how the saints and sinners labored to preserve Western culture while Europe was being overrun by barbarians. This is the sixth historical documentary that K.J. McDonald has produced. The latest was “A Dream Come True,” the story of the Lions trip for 117 World War II vets to the Washington D.C. Veterans Memorial. For more information, call 952-955-1623.
