To the Editor: As some of you know, one of my bucket list things has been to have a career as a bartender! Yes, I know, some people dream of places afar. I am into easy somewhat achievable activities. On Wednesday, April 25th, between about 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., the Victoria City Administrator and I will be the "Celebrity Bartenders" at the well-known Floyd's Bar in Victoria. Of course, I am sure (??) I will garner big "tips," which will all be donated to a local Victoria group that is doing a multitude of activities to fund publicity and other activities this summer about Hwy 5 being partially closed, but Victoria being open for business all summer. I am sending this to just a few people I know so that you can spread the word. I would love to see all of you, and all of your friends and family and company, at Floyd's on April 25th or in Victoria all summer. Thanks for all of your support. Mayor Mary Hershberger Thun Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Happy Easter. Peter Cottontail on page 7 in the March paper must be having fish eggs in his basket because the fishhook is located there too. When my little niece Sarah was about 5 years old, she would take the malted milk ball-type Easter eggs with the pastel colored coating, and she would wet her lips and rub the candy coating on her lips and it looked like lipstick. Now she's 42. I've been an aunt since I was five. My nice Christine, a cousin to Sarah and her sister Rachel were like three sisters growing up, being so close in age. There was plenty of mischief between those three and my brother and me. My little brother would chase them with the hose and douse them, and then they'd hook up another hose and get back at us. Hard to believe that was back in the late '70's. Seems like last week. Kay Meuwissen Chaska, Minnesota
To the Editor: Below normal precipitation since last fall has been on the forefront of discussion for many Lake Minnetonka residents, some who reside in the city limits of Victoria. While the water may seem low now, historical lake levels were similar in 2000 and 2009. Additionally, levels were dramatically lower in the late 1980's and early 1990's. When lake levels fall below 928 feet, the LMCD code states that the Board of Directors may approve a resolution that allows for temporary dock length extensions for licensed and unlicensed sites on Lake Minnetonka. For further information, contact the LMCD at 952-745-0789 or visit www.minnehahacreek.org. Gregory Nybeck Executive Director LMCD Shorewood, Minnesota
To the Editor: You were the only local paper last month to print the collegiate scholar's announcements this spring. It meant so much to my daughter (and her Grandma, too) because she got her first 4.0 at the University of Minnesota. Thank you. Vicki Bont Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thanks, Sue. Good job. Allen Hudinsky St. Boni, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. Enclosed is my subscription for your great paper. Enjoyed the North Dakota articles. My maternal grandparents are from that area. Also, my nephews and families are employed out there. Kathy Brose Waconia (Laketown), Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. I am wondering if the oil that is drilled in North Dakota stays here in the USA. Mark Wickenhauser Cologne, Minnesota
