April Fool's Day. Monday, April 1st. A day when humor reigns and harmless pranks, practical jokes, and hoaxes are sanctioned.

Holocaust-Remembrance-Day. Monday, April 8th. It is a day set aside for people to remember and learn about the horrors of the Holocaust. The Holocaust began in 1933 when Adolf Hitler came to power in Germany and ended in 1945 when the Nazis were defeated by the Allied powers. It is estimated that 11 million people were killed during the Holocaust, over half of them Jews.

Tax Day. Monday, April 15th. The day on which income tax returns are due to the federal and state governments in the USA.

Victoria City Council. Monday, April 8th, and Monday, April 22nd. 6:30 p.m. at Victoria City Hall on Rose Street.

Arbor Day. Friday, April 26th. In Minnesota it's designated as the last Friday in April. It is a day in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant and care for trees. The first Arbor Day was held in 1872 and an estimated one million trees were planted that day.
