MORE THAN A FACELIFT FOR VICTORIA PHASE TWO OF DOWNTOWN PROJECT BEGINS As reported in the last issue of the Gazette, the Downtown Phase II project went out for bids and was awarded to Chard Tiling and Excavating out of Belle Plaine at a low bid of $361,000. The project includes the extension of Tower Boulevard (shown at right) from the existing alley straight through to Quamoclit Street. See the caterpillar barreling between Fresh Seasons Market and the Gannon Building, making clear the path. |
The project includes a full reconstruction of Quamoclit Street from the Hwy 5 at Fresh Seasons Market and KleinBank to the Victoria Bar and Grill and parking lot on Stieger Lake Lane. The 1959 sanitary sewer is also being rebuilt, new storm water pipe is being installed, while the 1988 water system is generally in good repair. |
Access to the Victoria Bar and Grill and all other downtown businesses remains open. Come and see the progress in Victoria!

The project includes a full reconstruction of Stieger Lake Lane from 50 feet west of Quamoclit Street near the Victoria House to 200 feet east of Quamoclit past the parking lot on Stieger Lake Lane toward HEI. |
