Victoria Moments Continued

Why did the turkeys cross the road?  Well, probably for the same reason they cross through my backyard here in Victoria.  Wild turkeys were planted in the state several years ago already and they continue to propagate and go for daily strolls.  Sometimes that means crossing the road to get to the other side.  I never see turkey roadkill as I do with the raccoons, however, and I suspect it’s because turkeys travel in the daytime and raccoons travel in the nightime.  Drivers spot them in daylight and so we slow down and allow them safe passage.  Some residents of Victoria will recognize this road as Park Drive in the editor’s neighborhood.  ~S.O.

Three Generations of Fishermen.  I was wondering if you could publish this picture of our son in one of your upcoming issues of the Gazette.  We reside in the The Gallery neighborhood of Victoria.  One photo features Ethan Wolff, age 6, of Victoria with his Great Grandpa Bucky (Harold Schottle of Comfrey, MN) and his Grandpa Doug (Doug Stark of Rochester, MN) on Lobster Lake in Alexandria, MN.  This is three generations of fishermen.  We spent the Fourth of July there on Lobster Lake.  Ethan caught this northern pike.  His Great Grandpa Bucky caught this large mouth bass.  We are having the northern mounted for Ethan so he is able to display it in his room.

Thank you so much.  We enjoy the Gazette.  You do a great job.
