Would you be surprised to learn that one of the popular items sold at the Fish Market in Bergen is reindeer! It comes in sausage logs like from the St. Boni Meats and Deli Market, only slimmer and harder.

But we didn't sample the meat -- I believe it's called Speck -- until after our adventures with Per Inge and Karin Vik and the Orsen relatives. After we said goodbye to them, we stopped at a grocery story in Orskog and purchased a couple different varieties of meat and cheese for upcoming picnics on the road as we traversed toward oslo. We ate it all. It all was good. The territory is home to many more reindeer and sheep than it is to cattle and pigs. The label was only in Norwegian and none of it said "Moo or Oink." And what does a reindeer say?

And what does a fish say? When I dipped my hand into the minnow bucket, I didn't hear any noises whatsoever. I simply caught Estelle Sukhu of Victoria by the edge of her postage stamp and brought her to the surface to win the $10 prize from this monthly drawing. She found it in the Emerald Crest ad last month, where it was wrapped around the 'g' in the word 'gift.' Congratulations, Estelle. I'm always surprised that some of you find it rather quickly since I think I'm being so clever. And it's never sporting anything close to a shiny red nose so how can anyone spot it easily?
