To the Editor: I am sharing this with you as it may be of interest and some parts suitable for your next publication. The gentleman who sent this to me has passed away. He was a World War II hero and paratrooper who fought in Italy and there lost his hearing. "If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead, and a place to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world. "If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish some place, you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy. "What goes around, comes around. Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt. Dance like nobody's watching. Sing like nobody's listening. Live like it's heaven on earth." I'm turning 84 next February. Trust your Mom and Dad are doing well. God bless America. Malcolm MacAlpine Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Hi, Sue. We sincerely thank you for the nice article you placed in the past issue of the Gazette announcing our 50th Anniversary Open House. The celebration was wonderful with family, relatives, and many friends sharing this special day with us. I did mess up when I sent you the announcement. My dad Gordon moved back to Victoria, not my mom Clara who passed in 2005. I also found the fishhook on page 11 in the July Gazette, over the letter 'g' in the word 'gifts.' Thanks, again, Sue. The Gazette is awesome. God bless. George and Eilleen Koehnen Excelsior, Minnesota |
