Victoria Gazette - Hook Line & Sinker Column

As you drive around the metro area here in the Twin Cities, lake waters abound in every direction. When you drive toward the southwest corner of the state, you see very few lakes. That's why it became productive crop land rather than retail and resort land. We made the 135-mile trip from Victoria to Marshall again last week to see my parents and several of my siblings. The vast corn fields, soybean fields, and wheat fields stretch clear to the horizon on both sides of Highway 19, as far as you can see. It's a lovely sight, a familiar sight that is home to me.

When I reached into the minnow bucket, I pulled out Bruce Steadman, a resident of Victoria on Zumbra Circle. He found the fishhook near the mouth of a "mighty muskie" on page 34 of the July issue of the Gazette. Congratulations, Mr. Steadman. Your $10 check will be on its way to you ♫Soon and Very Soon♫.
