Lake Auburn Blood Drive. Saturday, August 4th, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sponsored by the Lake Auburn Moravian Church and Memorial Blood Center. For an appointment call 952-210-8200.

Victoria Fine Art Fair. Saturday, August 11th, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Bayfront Park in downtown Victoria. Live music at the bandstand.

Jerry Noreen's Celebration of Life. Sunday, August 12th, at the Victoria House from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. All are welcome to attend -- past employees, friends, and patrons. The Victoria House will provide hospitality. Bring stories, pictures, or memorabilia to share.

City Council Meetings. Monday, August 13th, and Monday, August 27th.

Full Moon. Sunday, August 26th. The moon is fully illuminated as seen from earth. At Full Moon, the moon and sun are on a line with earth in between, as though the moon and sun are sitting on either end of a seesaw.

Labor Day. Monday, September 3rd. Always the first Monday in September, a federal holiday celebrating the economic and social contributions of workers. First celebrated in 1882 in New York City. Celebrated by most Americans today as the symbolic end of summer.
