To the Editor: Hi, Sue, Lois, and all of you who have expressed support for Fresh Seasons. We all know how much Fresh Seasons supports our community with donations to and participation in so many of our city’s events. We need to show the same level of support to them by asking our friends and neighbors to shop there, in addition to our own shopping there. We’ve lost too many good retail businesses in Victoria the last couple of years and certainly don’t want to lose Fresh Seasons. It’s a great experience to encounter their friendly service and recognition each time we go there. Jim and Eiko Hoffman Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: The Victoria Fire Department would like to thank you for your more than generous contributions throughout the years. Please accept our sincere gratitude for all the coverage you have provided us in the Victoria Gazette. Steve Hardek, Firefighter Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Fresh Seasons is a great addition to Victoria. No more running to another town for groceries. I love their produce and the meat counter. How great is that! Happy holidays to all and don’t forget to shop Fresh Seasons. We love Fresh Seasons. Angie Kroening Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Let’s boost our holiday spending in Victoria. Buy local. Go local. Think local first! It takes one person to start a trend. Support Victoria businesses. Keep dollars in Victoria’s economy. It’s said that for every $100 spent in locally independent stores, $68 remains in a community’s economy. Embrace what makes Victoria unique. We are a strong close-knit community. Connect with your neighbors and friends while shopping. Local businesses are center to the scene of place and character of Victoria. Foster local job creation. Protect major contributors. They positively impact our tax base and offer support to local teams, schools, and charities. Preserve entrepreneurship. Ensure Victoria stands out from the crowd. Be a good neighbor. Buy local. Don’t forget their survival depends on our patronage. This Thanksgiving and Christmas, let’s “Think Local First.” Break old habits. Mary Meuwissen Counselor Realty Victoria, Minnesota
To the Editor: Thank you for the newspaper coverage. Sorry that I did not get back to you right away on your request for information on our addition to the Clocktower. I thought that by that late time of the month, that your questions were for next month’s paper. The required shared parking spaces were included in the building permit application. We have permanently leased the extra spaces from the Fresh Seasons grocery store development. We were allowed to count these spaces because they were in excess of the required spaces for the store. We met all the requirements as a permitted use in downtown Victoria. City staff, including Holly Kreft and Don Uram, followed the appropriate work steps to approve and accommodate the project as expected. They continue to demonstrate professionalism and fairness. As a business owner, I am pleased with their assistance. It will be our goal to house tenants that will add to the convenience of shopping at the grocery store. For example, we are looking at tenants such as dry cleaners. So far, most of the interest is from existing Clocktower tenants that are looking for a little more room and exposure. There is room for three or four retail tenants on the street level and four to six office tenants on the second floor. Terry Hartman Hartman Communities Victoria, Minnesota
